In search Secrets 1 and 2 we discussed how you can use quotes and plus signs to narrow your searches significantly.

This search results in over 300,000 results while this query: +thrasher +"search secrets" results in a few thousand. This cut down the results by 90% to narrow the possibilities that Google thinks you seek.
There are a few more things that will make your Google searches far more accurate. The site: is a great tool if you want to search certain information sites, like I do with about.com and webmd.com. Sometimes this works better in Google than it does on the individual sites themselves.
Also a great tool if you are say looking for history information for the popular word such as Washington, and you want something in the State of Washington. You then can use the minus sign "-" or hyphen, to tell Google you do NOT want certain words or phrases. In this case you might add -"Washington D.C." to your search and that would remove any results that include references to Washington D.C.
